FEATURED PROJECTS
Multivan Channel M
Channel M broadcasts to three million residents in the lower mainland and Vancouver Island. Its signal is broadcast on Cable 8 Vancouver and Cable 10 Victoria, and is also distributed by Bell ExpressVu on Channel 254. Channel M does in-house productions and works with independent producers to develop new programs to create 55 hours per week of local programming. Their schedule features multilingual news, entertainment and lifestyles programming; international movies with English subtitles; as well as English language “classics” and hit shows.
Channel M was built as an SDI plant with separate (non-embedded) AES audio. Due to the relatively small size of the Channel M studios, a For-A virtual set was utilized, along with the Radamec robotics. Another new innovation was the Miranda K2 virtual monitor wall in the production control facility.
