Jump Studios
Jump Studios is an industry leading production house specializing in the world of design, animation, editorial, visual effects and original creative. Jump Studios officially opened their doors in December 2006 with their key personnel bringing an impressive wealth of industry experience. General Manager, Brian Vos, and Creative Director, Jeff August, are well respected industry professionals with Canadian and international acclaim. Jeff is a multiple Emmy® award winning director, editor and designer. Jump Studios was also most recently honoured by the Alberta Motion Picture Industries Association (AMPIA) with two Rosie awards for their work for ABC Sports and Western Kentucky University Basketball.
AEL supplied a turnkey storage area network (SAN) system to support their production activities in their new Calgary facility. Key components include a Matrox AXIO HD non-linear production suite, 4 terabytes of Rorke Data network media storage and Dell Blade servers. The system’s backbone is a fiber channel network to handle the media content and a gig-E LAN for the SAN management which ties together the Boxx Technologies graphics workstations with the on-line edit suite and shared dynamic media storage. Key to the shared workflow solution is Adobe’s impressive Production Studio suite of products enabling dynamic file sharing and time-line linking between the editors and graphic artists in the facility. Peripheral equipment includes Dell LCD displays, Panasonic AJ-HD1400P DVCPRO HD mastering VTR and Panasonic 50” HD plasma display.
