MusiquePlus
MusiquePlus is a Canadian French language cable television specialty channel owned by Astral Media and operates out of Montréal, Quebéc. Astral Media broadcasts two music channels: MusiquePlus which is devoted to music and music-related programming from various genres including pop, rock and RnB, and focuses on a younger demographic, and MusiMax which focuses more on adult contemporary, soft-rock, classic rock and lighter music than its sister station, MusiquePlus.
AEL supplied and integrated a Front Porch Digital DIVArchive content storage management system for MusiquePlus which will interface with their 8-channel Grass Valley K2 ingest-and-playout multi-format media server/media client system and an Apple editing solution (8 editing seats on XSAN). The archived media resides in the SUN / StorageTek StreamLine SL8500 modular library system with 5 terabytes of storage. The system is also linked with the Louise traffic system which handles all media requests such has media transfers from archive to playout, transcoding from editing to web, and cellular and streaming video for external air play in the Montréal-Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport. CRTC logging is done with the Volicon server. All baseband video and audio signals are routed through a Grass Valley Trinix 256x256 router. MusiquePlus’ branding is done through Miranda VertigoXG with asset management.
