Beijing 2008 Olympic Games
Applied Electronics' Special Projects Team, based in the Toronto head office, has recently completed an 18-month supply and system build project for the major broadcast networks in Nordic countries
Sweden, Finland, Norway, and Denmark. The crew designed and built broadcast studios for SVT Sweden, YLE Finland, NRK Norway, and DNK Denmark networks inside the International Broadcast Center (IBC) in Beijing's Olympic Green Convention Center for the 2008 Olympic Games.
An International Broadcast Center is created at every Olympics to house studios for broadcasters from around the world. The Host broadcaster provides each of these international broadcasters a video and
audio feed from each venue, beauty shots from around the Olympic venues and transmission facilities so that coverage of each event could be broadcast to audiences back home.
These special Olympics projects generally require about 18 months from initial planning with the customer through to the build stage in our Toronto warehouse, shipping and re-installation on site, then
tear-down, shipping and disassemble back home.
