Scientists at the Research and Development arm of National Defence in Ottawa, Defence Research and Development Canada (DRDC), took delivery in December of this AELFrontline Sprinter Command Vehicle. The DRDC Sprinter van is outfitted as a mobile nuclear laboratory. It is equipped with an 8kw diesel generator, equipment rack systems, operator workstations and custom-designed storage to accommodate a suite of highly specialized equipment. Given that this vehicle may be called upon to respond to a situation anywhere in Canada, it was also retrofitted with four wheel drive to meet almost any challenge presented by terrain or snow. The van also has a curb-side awning with an add-a-room to provide extra laboratory space for DND personnel.
